Dress Well, Waste Less

Four years of building a conscious wardrobe in Budapest have taught me that sustainable fashion is not about perfection. It is about making better choices, one garment at a time. These guides share what actually works when you try to dress ethically in Hungary without spending a fortune.

Background

Why This Site Exists

I started paying attention to where my clothes came from in 2022, after reading about the environmental cost of fast fashion while studying textile engineering at BME in Budapest. The statistics were alarming, but the practical advice available felt disconnected from life in Hungary. Most sustainable fashion content assumes you live near London or Berlin, with access to dozens of ethical brands and second-hand markets on every corner.

Budapest has its own ecosystem of independent designers, vintage shops, and repair services, but finding them requires knowing where to look. This site maps out what I have discovered over four years of deliberately shifting my wardrobe toward more sustainable choices while living and working here.

Every recommendation comes from personal experience. I buy and wear the clothes I write about, visit the shops I mention, and test the care methods I suggest. There are no sponsored posts or affiliate links on this site.

How These Guides Work

Honest content

Tested Personally

Every garment, shop, and technique mentioned here has been tried by me over months of actual use. I do not recommend anything based solely on brand claims or press releases.

No Sponsorships

I purchase everything at full retail price and receive no compensation from brands or retailers. This keeps recommendations honest and free from commercial pressure.

Regularly Updated

Shops close, brands change their practices, and new options appear. I revisit and update guides when circumstances change and note revision dates on every page.
